ABOUT MATT

I was born in Hackensack NJ on July 12, 1988. I grew up in Paramus, NJ until the age of 12 when my parents decided to make the move to Howell Township, NJ to be closer to family. My father was extremely hard working while my mother was a stay at home Mom. In 1996, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and was only given 5 years to live at the time. As a young boy, I spent most of my days in the hospital and grew close with my Mom.
After making the move to Howell Township, I attended Howell Township schools until sophomore year of high school when I made the unconventional decision to leave school and pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. After leaving high school, I quickly learned that making a full time career out of photography wasn’t as easy as I thought.
Until I opened up my business in 2016, I worked many different jobs while pursuing the dream. NYC construction worker, pool service technician, valet attendant, club manager, restaurant server, and tons of odd jobs. You name it, I most likely did it until I was able to support myself with photography full time. Five years later, I have worked with over 500+ clients and delivered well over 1 million images to my clients and have never looked back.
The question I get asked all the time is what made me choose wedding photography rather then anything else with photography. It’s a pretty easy answer. I love the satisfaction from being able to capture one of the most important days in someone’s life. There are not many other days in people’s lives where there will be so much positive energy and raw emotions. Happiness, excitement, nervousness, joy - whatever the emotion, I love just being along for the ride and capturing it all.
I married my wife Azahria on January 15, 2018. We got married at The Park Chateau in East Brunswick NJ. We now currently live in Wall Township NJ with our 3 dogs who are all boxers. My wife and I very simple people. We enjoy being at home spending time with our dogs over a good home cooked meal.
On May 25, 2021 after a 25+ year battle with my mother passed away from cancer. I contribute my photography career to my Mother. She was my best friend and person who supported me when nobody else gave me a chance. She was always in my corner to leave high school and pursue my dream.

Even if we were “late” according to schedule he never once made my husband or I feel rushed. He is beyond responsive even to this day (3 months post wedding and still dealing with me helping me make my photo album!). And the PICTURES! The pictures are so breathtakingly beautiful. He really captured every moment. They are stunning and so helpful to us to relive our most special day. Not to mention we had our entire album maybe 9 days after our wedding?! That is unheard of! Matt Kirchhof is incredible at what he does. From day 1, my husband and I felt like we were in the best hands with him as our photographer. He was enthusiastic, professional, and very attentive to detail. We had multiple meetings with him to finalize the details of our day. Matt even created a timeline for our entire day which was SO helpful. On the wedding day, Matt arrived with Chris. They were both a pleasure to work with. Matt kept things moving and made sure we got all of the beautiful pictures we wanted around the venue and with our family. Matt even sent us a sneak peak the next day for my husband to show his grandparents who were unable to attend. Fast forward 10 days later and we received all 2,000 pictures. Not A Studio
Why aren’t we a studio? Because who wants someone showing up on their wedding day that they’ve most likely never met before, knows nothing about, and most likely has nothing in common with, then spending the entire day with them? Definitely not me, and you shouldn’t either. That’s why I personally shoot every single job that is booked and personally sit with all my potential clients before booking to make sure they love my work, and me as a person.
We Are Committed
We are committed to doing whatever it takes to provide the best possible product to our clients before, during, and after the wedding day. The number that's listed at the bottom of my email, that's my personal cell phone. I don’t have an office line because I’ll answer calls when are clients need us, not just office hours. Want that shot that requires me to screw up my nice suit? I’m the first one on laying on the ground or ankle high in the mud just to capture the creative angle and photo for my clients.
We Do The Right Thing
We always tell the truth, and always do what’s right for our clients. That may sound like something that should be given, but unfortunately it’s not; especially in this day and age where it seems like most business owners do the wrong thing, before doing the right thing. Well not here. There will never be a time when I try to sell you on services you don’t need, or have hidden fees somewhere in my contract. Because that’s how it should be.
